aluminum surfaces can be printed by the offset, screen and flexographic methods, by the indirect gravure process and the silkscreen process. offset printing is used when high precision or small runs are to be produced and when only a light color impression is required. screen printing is preferred if the color coating has to be particularly dense and if certain properties of resistance must be present in the printed color. flexographic printing is used mainly if shaped parts and articles that are difficult to print are concerned and if the same resistance properties are required as are possible with the screen process. the preparaton and post treatments for the various printing processes and the color systems that can be used are described for as-rolled, brushed, etched, anodized and lacquered aluminum surfaces. various special processes are additionally applicable in the case of anodized aluminum. in german
