the aim for this study was to reduce particle number concentration caused by bedding and cleaning in army barracks sweeping has been a generally used cleaning method in barracks sweeping produces high particle concentration into air trough reemission of the sedimented material on floors. immediately after sweeping the floor is wiped with a moist cloth. recently in some garrisons a new cleaning method, mopping, has become more used. in mopping floors are wiped with a moist cotton mop. after mopping mops are washed by a washing machine. one of the most particle producing cloth in barracks used throughout the year is a wool blanket. in some barracks in finland there are rooms equipped with fiber blankets for allergic men. 3 refs
