the influence of tine chloride on the thermal decomposition of cottongrass peat has been studied. the presence of tin chloride leads to a rise in the yield of carbonaceous residue and to an increase in its carbon contents and degree of aromatization (c/h atomic ratio). the increase in the yield of carbonaceous residue and in the degree of its carbonization and aromatization depends directly on the amount of salt added.
