a tractor-mounted sprayer for cotton was developed and evaluated in the field. the sprayer boom has 13 triple action nozzles and two spray guns. it has a swath width of 12 m and covered 1. 2 ha/h while operating at a speed of 3. 5 km/h. the field performance and effectiveness of spray on yield of this sprayer was compared with that of the knapsack sprayer. there was a net increase in yield of 29. 6 in the field sprayed by tractor-mounted sprayer as compared to the field sprayed by knapsack sprayer. pest control was better in the case of the tractor-mounted sprayer as compared to knapsack sprayer.
