the structure of the organic matter of cottongrass peat in its initial state and after oxidation with nitric acid has been studied by esr spectroscopy and x-ray structural analysis during its thermal degradation in the range of temperatures of 200-300 $degree$ c. the relaxation parameters of the paramagnetic centers and the g-factor of the esr absorption signal are the most sensitive to structural transformations.
