mass trapping of the egyptian cotton leafworm (spodoptera littoralis) with its sex pheromone for four consecutive years (1976-1979) has resulted in a 20-45 reduction in treatments against the pest, together with reduction in the number of egg clusters and egg viability in treated fields as compared to control, on vast areas, of thousands of hectares. mass trapping of the pest in cotton fields in israel is now part of its integrated control.
