we study the process of formation of the real contact area (rca) of a fibrous mass (specifically cotton) with the surface of a polymer material on the basis of a model representation of the contacting bodies with account for their specific properties. we derive the analytic dependence of the relative real contact area on the basic factors influencing rca formation, which makes it possible to study the mechanism of frictional interaction of fibrous masses with the surfaces of construction materials.
