ninety-seven odd levels of eui belonging to the sub-configurations 4f**7(**8s)6s**2, 4f**7(**8s)5d6s, 4f**7(**8s) 6s6d, 4f**7(**8s)5d**2 et 4f**7(**8s)6p**2 have been interpreted by means of the slater-condon parametric theory by taking into account configuration mixing and the effect of upper terms arising from 4f**7 **6p. the r. m. s. deviation is 58 cm** $minus$ **1 and 13 levels which have been found in an analysis of infrared emission spectra are reported for the first time. the energy level structure of the core 4f**7 has been derived from a parametric study of the ground configuration of eu iii.
