co//2 corrosion in gas, gas-condensate, and oil wells has remained elusive to prediction of its kinetics, rate, and morphology prior to failure. however, it can be shown that within the context of the corrosion mechanism, a qualitative assessment of corrosivity can be obtained. furthermore, a quantitative assessment of inhibition can be obtained by using the corrosion rate production rate (copra) correlation. utilizing the knowledge of the corrosion mechanism and the available data, a study of 60 gas wells in the n personville field, limestone county, texas was conducted. large variances in producing characteristics throughout the field confirmed the major parameters that contribute to localized corrosion attack (edited author abstract) 21 refs
