the structural characterization of one of the products, w//2(o-i-pr)//6(co)//4, is reported. the crystals consist of an ordered array of discrete molecules. it is a binuclear complex with the tungsten atoms in formal oxidation states vi and o and a repulsive interaction between the metal atoms. its crystal structure has been determined, and the above interpretation is supported by ir data. 9 refs
