studies are conducted on office automation, and methodologies for their evaluation are examined. the system cost is studied to justify the investment in computerized information equipment. a conceptual model of the system is considered for the cost evaluation the evaluation methodologies deal with both benefits and cost issues a theoretical framework for a multi-client study is furnished and five categories of automated office systems are considered for the improved productivity. both quantitative and qualitative techniques used by the study team in fifteen case studies are described, and the results are reported. 6 refs
