in this article, the adsorption of the dye c. i. direct yellow 12 on cotton in aqueous solution of sodium alginate with various molecular weights is reported. the effect of molecular size of sodium alginate on the dye adsorption has been examined based on a multiple equilibrium model. the results indicate that the equilibrium adsorptions increase with increased concentration of sodium alginate and the increased content of dye adsorption does not depend on the molecular weight of sodium alginate used. 11 refs
