a model is proposed for the domain boundary between cotton domains in a polyaxial ferromagnetic plate in which the magnetic flux inside a specimen is closed and there is a faraday magnetic phase in that domain boundary. the model provides a qualitative explanation of the abnormally wide domain boundaries observed on planar specimens of cubic magnets. the dependence of width on applied elastic stress is obtained theoretically. a comparison of the energies of a bloch domain wall and the proposed wide domain wall is made. 13 refs
