this paper presents the study methodology, solution options, final recommendations and cost benefits of modifying the central steam and chilled water system at the university of oklahoma health sciences center in order to minimize energy consumption in both the production and distribution of steam and chilled water. the results of the analysis revealed that considerable energy conservation and operating savings were obtainable through the use of a $left double quote$ free cooling $right double quote$ cycle during winter months
