in the reported experiments, a comparative physicochemical characterization has been made of the bitumens obtained by the extraction of a sample of cottongrass-sphagnum peat with type br-2 gasoline, hexane, benzene, perchloroethylene, chloroform and dioxane the bitumens isolated have been re-extracted with gasoline, benzene and perchloroethylene. the products obtained have been characterized by ir, esr, and pmr spectroscopy and other physicochemical methods 17 refs
