thermal treatment of sugar cane bagasse hardboard reduces strength, but water resistance is improved, whether the boards are manufactured with or without resin. bending strength of boards made with high ratio of resin shows a different behavior, toward hardening, than boards made from rice straw or cotton stalks theories are proposed to explain this behavior. 8 refs
