The study on degradation of chitosan molecular weight (Chinese)

In this study, three kinds of methods were used to degrade the molecular weight of Chitosan: Chitin reacted with high concentration NaOH solution at 100℃ and reaction time varied; Chitin reacted firstly with 5％ HCI solution at 100℃ and reaction time varied, the to be Chitosan by deacetylation; different concentration of H₂O solution(0.03％ and 0.7％) temperature (55℃ and 75℃) and reaction time (1 and 2 hours). From the results of experiment, it was found that the degree of degradation was increased with increasing reaction time when high concentration NaOH solution and 5％ HCI solution were used to degrade the molecular weight of Chitosan. The best way to degrade the molecular weight of Chitosan is to use H₂O₂ solution.
