The Cotton Agricultural Research Laboratory in India tests samples of trade varieties of cotton grown each season. Data on cotton grown during the 1988/1989 season are complied. The Grader's Report includes class, color, staple length and strength, regularity, and value. Fiber and yarn properties are tested in the laboratory. Data on cultivation indicate the area under cultivation and production in bales organized by variety, staple, and geographic location
