Japan Exlan have developed a range of fibres which contain fine metallic particles. The company explains how specific and often unusual characteristics can be conferred on fibres by the incorporation of fine metallic particles or virtually insolube salts of metals. Distinctive properties such as antibacterial, antifungal, odour repelling and deodorizing can be provided. Working examples are given in the article.
