A Fleissner fiber draw line has been used in an installation that produces carpet fibers from 100 percent ground and cleaned PET made by Automatik. Production is 60 tons per day with a titer of 6.7 to 17 dtex. The capacity of the installation is achieved by 32 spinning positions. The Fleissner draw line has single stage drawing. The drawstands can be loaded with 60,000 Newtons of force. A heating duct with steam injection between drawstands, temperature control in the draw section, and a regular tow covering on the drawstand godets are used to obtain elongation and strength values that are normal for carpet fibers.
