APPLICATION BENEFITS OF TEXTILE AUXILIARIES

The performance, aesthetic, and cost benefits of textile auxiliaries are discussed. The performance benefits include applications to improve the processing characteristics of textile fibers during such dry processing sequences as spinning, warping, sizing, and weaving. Auxiliaries are also used to increase the efficiency of such wet processes as dyeing and printing. The aesthetic benefits of auxiliaries include their use as softeners, surface smoothing agents, and hand modifiers. Cost-related benefits include improvement of substrate and application conditions, increases in process efficiency, improvements in compatibility and stability of additives, and increases in productivity. The use and benefits of auxiliaries on cellulosics and polyester are described.
