An overview of terminology and definitions relating to the manmade fiber industry contains generic names of manmade fibers, a coding system, nomenclature for texturing and textured yarns, new terms, and definitions. Principal technical terms are defined and described in English, German, Spanish, and Italian. Morphological Scheme, terms and definitions for statistics, and the designation of yarns in the tex system are also discussed.
