Experiments from 1998-1999 determined the effects of different weed and disease control strategies on Roundup Ready cotton seedling stands, stress, and seed cotton yields. Weed control strategies included a conventional full season program of Treflan 4E, Zorial Rapid, Cotoran 4L, MSMA 6E, Cy-Pro 4E; Cotoran 4L, Zorial Rapid 80, and Roundup Ultra 4E; Prowl 3.3, Staple 75, and Roundup Ultra 4E; Roundup Ultra 4E; and a nonchemical control in which weeds were hoed. Quantities per acre and times of application (pre-emergence included a seed treatment only; seed treatment and hopper box treatment of Delta-Coat; and seed treatment and in-furrow fungicide treatment with Ridomil Gold PC 11G. Inoculating the plot in-furrow at planting with Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium infested oats or panicum established two disease pressure levels. Abstract.
