In addition to an oiling agent, emulsifier, and antistatic agent, spin finishes can also contain antioxidants, antimicrobial agents, pigments, and antifoaming agents. Although recent literature suggests that it is impossible to create multicomponent colloidal spin finishes with defined processing properties, experiments at the Ivanovo State Chemical Engineering University indicated that aqueous solutions of low melting, ionogenic, film forming polymers capable of large irreversible tensile strains at the temperature of orientational drawing and texturing of the fibers improve the antistatic effects of spin finishes. 23 refs.
