Aqueous pigment printing systems replace MTO/derosene with a water based, polycarboxylic acid thickener to imrprove the environmental friendliness of the process and eliminate the kerosene smell. Aqueous pigment prints exhibit good washfastness and rubfastness but are less bright due to the formation of a transparent film over the pigment after curing.
