Consolidated Cotton Gin Company Limited's new Up-Packing bale press exceeds capacities of 60 bales per hour and is available in both universal and high density models. A review of machine design and operations focuses on durability, capacity, and efficiency. The company installed four of these presses in cotton gins in Australia and Texas. Machine design involved simplification of installation and troubleshooting by permitting flexibility in assembly. Machine operations are similar to conventional presses in which most of the structure is located below the gin floor and only the zone where the bale is ejected is above the floor.
