Polymer Products Group of Protein Technologies International recently became DuPont Soy Polymers. The company's major market is the paper coating industry. DuPont Pro-Cote water soluble paper coating products improve production rates to up to 5,000 feet per minute, final sheet quality, and resistance to heat. The soy polymers also have applications in adhesives for manufacturing textile cones for winding yarns or fibers, particle board manufacture, and ceiling tile paint. Researchers at DuPont Soy Polymers are investigating a range of potential products, including manmade snow, flexographic inks, and finishes for high sheen leather.
