Specialty Textile Products Limited, which sources yarns, fabrics, dyes, and chemicals, formed an exclusive agreement with LJ Specialties, a finish manufacturer, to market their range of finishes in the United Kingdom and Europe. The managing director of Specialty Textile Products has introduced advanced techniques in chitosan finishing, which is derived from a natural waste product and confers antimicrobial properties and moisture control to cellulose via crosslinking. The product has been tested for safety by the company and by Queens Medical Hospital and is being tested by bedding and towel retailers.
