Biotechnologies are a modern stormy developing branch that pervades many industrial areas. They open space for utilisation of non-traditional sources of raw materials and adoption of wholly new technological processes, including wasteless production and waste valorisation. Today all these trends are very desired also for development and modernization of textile industry, especially of finishing processes. Biotechnologies are not only a source of product innovation, but even a possibility of a significant ecologization of technologic processes and a source of new raw materials for production of textile auxiliary agents and dyestuffs that are available by ecologically suitable ways.
