The China Textile Machinery Exhibition held in Beijing in October 2000 was the largest yet, confirming that China's textile market is emerging from the doldrums. Nearly half the exhibitions come from outside mainland China, principally Italy, Germany and Hong Kong. Chinese visitors to the stands were most interested in technical modifications and plant expansion.
