Correct overspraying on wool and its blends with polyester is absolutely necessary. The overspray alters the frictional properties of fibres which in turn affects processability at different stages of spinning. Spraying is a non-permanent textile finish applied to facilitate spinning performance. The reasons for applying overspray are listed and the need for it. The spraying unit is a multifunctional device for watering, tinting and spraying antistatic solution. Supervision of the spraying unit is described with 12 steps explained. Ten results of maintaining a satisfactory oil level in the material are listed. The after effects of low or nil oil content are presented in list form (8 sub-sections). The oils must satisfy the requirements of users and 26 essentials are specified. The appropriate selection of oils must be achieved to ensure smooth processability, otherwise static charge and cohesion leads to difficulties in spinning such as roller lapping.
