X-static: A fibre with silver properties (French) (X-static: Une fibre aux proprietes d’argent)

X-Static fibres, the silver fibre, have a layer of pure silver permanently bonded to its surface. This polyamide 6.6 silver-treated fibre retains itstraditional textile and tactile propertie and offers the benefits inherent to silver. This fibre is claimed to be permanently antimicrobial, tests after 250 washes exhibiting practically no decrease in antimicrobial effect. X-Static is claimed to offer also antistatic properties as well as coolness is summer and warmth in winter due to its thermal transfer properties. X-Static finally is not toxic to the skin because it does not have any added chemicals. The properties claimed are very promising and remain to be confirmed by the characteristics of textile apparel containing this fibre. Tests are being carried out on footwear, sportswear, tee-shirts and linings.
