Barmag--Unitens Now Also For Spinning Machines.

Barmag has designed a computerized Unitens yarn tension measuring system for use on manmade fiber spinning machines. The basis of the design is a monitoring system that Barmag fits on its crimping machines. Online quality monitoring of yarn during production is possible. The system records deviations from preset tolerances and responds appropriately to the deviations, such as signaling an alarm or initiating a corrective action. Classification of each yarn package, based on the data collected by the system, is possible. Operators can also use the data to identify and isolate the cause of problems, such as variations in temperature, godet speed, and spin finishes.
