The current treand toward automation of the spinning mill will continue, with increased emphasis on automated systems for transporting cops, spinning cans, and yarn packages between processes. An economic analysis of manual and automated transprot systems indicates that the installation of automated transprot systems is economically viable. Systems for transproting cans between the card and draw frame, between two draw frames, and between draw frame and flyer; systems for transproting cops between ring spinning machines and automatic coners; and systems for transporting bobbins to pallets or between machines are described.
