A ring spinning machine with one or more jets for spraying oil under pressure onto the spinning rings also has a suction tube for removing oil-entrained air in the region of the rings. The jet and suction tube may be mounted on a reciprocating carriage, together with a water-spraying nozzle for cleaning plates. The extracted oil may be filtered and recycled through the jet.
