Yarn hairiness, as an important feature of yarn surface geometry, has a significant influence on the course of post-spinning operations, as well as on the aesthetic properties of fabrics. In this work a review of the influence of some operations in the spinning process on the evolution of yarn hairiness is given, together with some possibilities of reduction of this generally undersirable yarn characteristic.
