At ITMA 1995, machinery manufacturers in the short staple spinning sector presented modifications of existing processes rather than new processes or machines. A brief review of innovations in blowroom machinery (including bale opening systems and cotton cleaning machines), carding machines, drawing machines, combing machines, roving machines, ring spinning machines, rotor spinning machines, and air jet spinning machines reveals that developments in the short staple fiber sector focused on increasing productivity and improving quality.
