The title system for improving the ring spinning process for long-staple fibres is evaluated. The potential of the condenser system becomes clear when spinning 100% A/B quality wool with a fineness of 2㎛ into an Nm 41 yarn on a standard worsted ringframe and a compact spinning machine. The work capacity of the yarn is increased considerably. This is achieved by binding all the fibres into the yarn assembly, thus improving both the tenacity and elongation at break. Yarn hairiness can be reduced by producing at conventional speed. The work capacity is increased greatly even when the spindle frame. Productivity can also be increased in 'compact' spinning by imparting fewer turns per metre. The 'compact' system thus permits productivity improvements of 20-30%, with enhanced yarn properties.
