The Harriet and Henderson yarn spinning plant at Clarkton, NC, USA, which was completed earlier this year, is equipped with electronic humidity controls. The company built its own system, using off-the-shelf components, for its 250 000 square feet factory which produces about 600 000 pounds of yarn per week. The system controls the humidity to within 2％ of the desired level. Details of the design, operation and calibration of the system are provided.
