Major Trends in the Short Staple Spinning Sector at ITMA 1995.

Although no major technological developments were exhibited at ITMA 1995 in the short staple spinning sector, important trends included the simplification of operations, particularly in information systems. Notable information systems at the exhibition were Barco's Sycotex and Marzoli's Plan Management. Automation and improvements in design for safety were significant in materials handling systems. Trutzschler, Murata, and Rieter, in particular, demonstrated novel automatic processing systems. A review of the exhibitions describes products from manufacturers of opening, cleaning, blending, carding, and combing units, units for the coarse and fine preparation of roving, continuous ring spinning units, air jet spinning units, open end spinning units, bobbins, and twisting units.
