CIM in the spinning mill - utopia or reality?

In the highly-industrialized countries of Europe, the introduction of computer-intergrated manufacturing into the spinning mill could prove to be an extremely effective means in the future of competing with the low-wage countries. This article raises the question of whether CIM is already available for application in the spinning mill. Fully comprehensive program packs are not yet available for use here because of the complexity of the spinning process. The question of return-on-investment when introducing a CIM system is also considered.
