Sant'Andrea Novara's LINEA 123 integrated processing system has applications in the automation of the manufacture of wool top. A description of its construction and operations focuses on its high level of productivity and flexibility. The system continuously processes wool, performing doubling and drafting operations conventionally requiring three or more machines. Each drafting module has an electronic-mechanical autoleveler that not only corrects variations in feed weight but simultaneously regulates the speed to synchronize operations.
