In a report that was originally presented to the American Yarn Spinners Association in September 1992, Marzoli examines the installed spinning capacities (ring and open end) and average yearly shipments of equipment to Asia, North America, Europe, South America, and Africa during the period 1982-1991. The average labor cost per hour relative to ring and open end operations in high and low labor cost countries are examined. The relative prospects for growth, stability, and decline in these geographical areas are evaluated.
