The Orbit system for ring spinning, developed by Rieter, Bracker, and Prosino, commands a significant share of the high performance spinning market. The large traveler contact service allows reduced specific surface pressing, optimal heat conduction, good yarn values, and high consistencies between spinning positions. The Orbit performs best with combed cotton, polyester/cotton, and 100 percent polyester. Prerequisite conditions for optimum production include good roving evenness, good air conditioning, and low fiber fly. Orbit can be implemented on most modern ring spinning machines.
