Spinning mills use several techniques to reduce cotton stickiness, including washing and drying the fibers and heat treatments. Heat treatments, which remove the water content of the adhesive substances so that they lose their adhesiveness, are generally superior to washing. Because stickiness harms spinning, drawing, combing, and carding machines, stickiness control treatment should precede carding. Due to the lack of penetration of contact or convection heat, microwaves are the only suitable heat source for treating entire bales contaminated with honeydew. Microwaves enable the selective application of heat. In addition, they are primarity effective in the adhesive particle rather than in the fiber. Researchers developed a preyarn processing system comprising an opening unit, microwave section, and opening and cleaning unit.
