Spinning developments shown at the ATME-I '97 exhibition in Greenville, South Carolina, are reviewed. Although the number of visitors was down on the previous ATME devoted to spinning, exhibitors were satisfied with the quality of the interest shown. The US spinning industry is close to saturation point in rotor-spinning productive capacity and most attention is focused on replacement installation. Ring-spinning, rotor-spinning and air-jet spinning developments are discussed.
