This article describes the mechanical conditioning of polyester/viscose rayon (p/v) ring spun yarn. It investigates the effect of different parameters of mechanical conditioning on yarn properties using Box and Behnken response surface design. It also uses a second order response surface design to ascertain the most favourable conditions and the relationship between the influencing factors and the dependent variables. The parameters evaluated were: breaking load, breaking elongation, yield point and work of rupture.
