The new Reiter 10 Flex carpet yarn spinning macines, which enables three-colour yarns to be manufactured for the first time in a single-stage process, is described. Details are provided of the design and operation of the equipment including the production of various yarn types the production speed capability. The advantages of the machine are claimed to be a single process with the same quality as a two stage process, 30-50％ reduction in costs, lower capital cost, maximum process flexibility, high production speed and flexibility with respect to yarn choice.
