In this article, the author has discussed the physical properties of micro denier fibre with a view to studying the effect of such properties on the processing parameters for the manufacture of spun yarns from micro denier fibres. The nature of interaction between fibre and machine elements at different stages of spinning is discussed in detail with specific recommendations for drawing, roving preparation and ring spinning.
