J.C. Renni ＆ Company introduced its two ply 14.5 Nm yarn Esprit, suitable for 7 and 9 gage knitting machines, to meet the demand for soft and supple knitwear, Esprit is available in a 64/36 lamb's wool/cotton blend and an all cotton boucle. Rennie's donegal yarns incorporate a silk nep to produce the fashionable fleck effect. Its Supersoft range of yarns for hosiery and knitwear is available in 84 stock supported colors. Its autumn/winter 1998/1999 collection includes the fashionable random printed effects yarn Mosaic. Rennie's sister company, Alexanders of Scotland, expects the shetland look in fabrics to remain strong. Both companies purchased new equipment for their mills that includes a large capacity Murata winding machine.
